SilentPower has launched an optically isolated network switch for pure AV delivery.
The subsidiary of company iFi audio introduces the OMNI LAN, an upgrade to the standard network switch.
With triple-stage isolation, femto-precision clocking and real-time performance monitoring, OMNI LAN removes interference and restores timing precision at the source.
While standard switches are designed for data rather than detail, OMNI LAN uses optical isolation to remove electrical noise across the frequency spectrum.
The conversion of electrical to light signals eliminates noise, interference and stray currents for greater precision.
Users can choose from 13 ports: four ‘Ultra-Pure’ ports with three stages of isolation, including the internal optical isolation path, and nine ‘Standard’ including one stage of galvanic isolation for less critical devices such as routers, set top boxes, NAS drives and consoles.
The switch’s internal clock and advanced GMT (Global Master Timing) system eliminates jitter at its root, using femtosecond-level precision for ultra-stable clock timing.
A retina-grade, full-colour TFT display keeps users informed with real-time bandwidth data for each port.
The OMNI LAN plug-and-play solution can also be monitored and updated via the iFi Nexis app.
