Intellivision to launch family gaming console

Intellivision has announced details including launch titles and accessories for its Intellivision Amico console due to be released in the Autumn.

Every Intellivision Amico family entertainment system will come with six pre-installed games and two controllers as standard. As well as the controllers that come with the console, up to six smartphones can also be used as controllers through a free app.

The six pre-loaded games consist of two sports games ‘Intellivision Skiing’ and ‘Cornhole’, the dice game ‘Farkle’, action game ‘Astrosmash’, family fun game ‘Shark! Shark!’, and the yet to be announced party game.

In addition to the six pre-installed games, the Amico Game Shop has over 20 additional titles from all genres and are expected to be available to download on launch day. Eight of the additional games will not only be available online but also as a special edition.

As a European entertainment centre, the screen texts of all games and the console will be available in nine different languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, as well we Mexican Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

A number of accessories will also be launched alongside the console, including a console bag which allows safe transport of the console and controllers. A sleeve can be used to protect the Amico controller when out and about too.

The look of the system can be customised with ten different controller skin packs available which each include three different designs. The motifs include racing, sports, sci-fi, modern art, or a kids pack.

Prior to the launch of Intellivision Amico, the company has also announced that its European team has been strengthened with the appointment of Therése Svensson as product manager for Europe. In this role, she will coordinate the localisation of all products as well as marketing and press work from Sweden.
