NuVo Technologies, the award-winning manufacturer of whole home audio systems and components, has announced the availability of new drivers for integrating the NuVo Wireless Audio System with Crestron home automation solutions and Bitwise controls.
The Crestron driver is now available the Crestron website, the Bitwise module from the BitWise Dealer Store.
The Crestron driver will simplify integration of the two systems, allowing installers to offer customers a streamlined, user-friendly whole home experience. Through a user’s Crestron control device, he or she can navigate their NuVo system, select zones and content, adjust volume, and more. The driver is available now for free download on the Crestron Integrated Partner Program page.
Rick Kukulies, NuVo’s Vice President of Engineering, comments, “Providing a seamless user-experience is an invaluable feature for any whole home system. It is a priority for NuVo to keep operation of our audio solutions sleek and simple, whether it is through our own apps or through control from a third party device. Crestron is renowned in this industry for the superior quality of their systems, and we are excited to have such a smooth and efficient way for installers to combine our high-fidelity audio with all that Crestron has to offer.”
“It has been a pleasure working with NuVo to deliver an interface which allows fluent integration with its powerful wireless audio system,” said Crestron Director of Business Development, Steve Samson. "Our integration brings all systems and technology together on one platform to provide a simple and seamless integrated solution, enabling streamlined installation for dealers and an enjoyable experience for the homeowner.”
Scanning a network to detect NuVo Wireless components, the Bitwise module enables users to control any zone to adjust volume, select sources, and manage queues, all from a BitWise Room Remote or a BitWise Touch app for smartphones and tablets. Additionally, with the BitWise BC1 and BC2 controllers, advanced functionality is possible through system macros, allowing installers to determine preset volumes, create party buttons, and even include a “Goodnight” macro to turn off all zones.
“We’re very excited about this release said Mark Buster, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of BitWise. The NuVo Wireless Audio System is a great solution for BitWise dealers because it’s easy to install, it sounds great, and it offers comprehensive integration capabilities. Our module provides full two-way control and media browsing of online music services and local content. It even discovers all of the NuVo zones automatically. It takes less than a minute to add this module to a project, and installers have the option to customize the user interface however they like.”
NuVo’s Marketing Manager, Desiree Webster, added, “NuVo’s wireless system was designed to include incredibly aesthetic and intuitive user control. This is our most advanced control protocol ever, one that maintains its reaction speed and simple navigation even through third-party plug-ins.”
Commenting Habitech’s Jonathan Pengilley said “these new enhancements add further control flexibility to an extremely capable and versatile offering. Above all they confirm NuVo’s pedigree as the luxury multi-room music system built for CI.”
The NuVo Wireless Audio System is a high-fidelity wireless solution designed specifically for custom installers. Comprising multiple interchangeable player options, the system is both scalable and flexible, allowing for wireless and wired configurations, and even including a hardwired professional series player option which powers three zones from one single rack-mountable unit. The system also includes built-in source variety through streaming Internet Radio and networked content, on top of input access for analogue and USB devices.
