Stealth Acoustics Debuts StingRay SR430 Outdoor Subwoofer at CEDIA Expo 2013 (23/9/2013)
CEDIA Expo 2013
Stealth Acoustics, a leading manufacturer of invisible speakers and creator of StingRay, the only fully- sealed hi-fidelity outdoor speaker line, announced today the debut of a companion StingRay model SR430 outdoor subwoofer to compliment the StingRay series of environmentally protected speakers.
StingRay outdoor speakers, released to market earlier this year, are a robust outdoor speaker solution that has no grills, openings or other ways for the environment to encroach upon the internal components of the speaker. StingRay is so fully protected that it has been certified by IEC Ingress Protection (IP) standards to an unprecedented IP-68 category, meaning it is fully immune to dust or particulates and is capable of operating underwater for a minimum of 64 hours at 1M depth.
“While our StingRay full-range outdoor speakers reproduce surprisingly warm bass output by themselves, we realized having a device that creates deeper sub-bass frequencies would benefit certain applications”, said Steve Olszewski, vice president of Stealth Acoustics. “In systems like outdoor home theatres, high output poolside systems or in themed entertainment you sometimes want that extra bass you can feel as well as hear. Our new SR430 subwoofer fills that bill nicely, while offering simple above ground installation and impressive environmental durability.”
Based on Stealth’s successful B30 invisible subwoofer speaker platform, the completely-sealed StingRay SR430 subwoofer has eight 8” high power cone woofers firing actively into four independent 512 square inch area impenetrable panel faces on the sides of the environmentally protected pedestal style box, as well as firing passively into a 5th diaphragm on the bottom of the speaker. In total this equates to over 2500 square inches of radiating surface to develop extended bass frequencies down to 20Hz at up to 103 dB of output.
“Our StingRay outdoor speaker line has been very well received by integrators and we are continuing to build a complete family of devices based on the waterproof technology.” continues Olszewski. “Our growing family of StingRay outdoor speakers and the SR430 subwoofer, coupled with our new SA2400 DSP-based power amplifier, helps integrators create a variety of complete outdoor system solutions to fit different price points and design goals.”
