Habitech Distributes AMX Control Systems and Digital Media Signal Management Systems (2/9/2013)
Habitech, a value-added distributor of home entertainment and automation products has signed a distribution agreement with AMX to distribute its range of Control Systems and Digital Media signal management systems from 1st Sept 2013.
Based on innovative proven technologies, AMX provides reliable integrated system control and digital media signal management within residential applications.
For system control, Habitech will primarily focus on AMX’s range of NetLinx control processors, Modero touch screen control panels and related ICS LAN control interfaces. The portfolio provides entirely scaleable solutions for integrated single room control such as home cinema rooms, to more elaborate integrated multi-zone audio and video control requirements throughout a property, to yet more complex full system integration with KNX based sub-systems performing building and energy management, lighting control, etc.
Signal management and switching:
For signal management, Habitech will concentrate on AMX’s Enova® DGX Link platform, which provides the optimal infrastructure/back-bone to support reliable end-to-end signal transmission and switching over HDMI, UTP (twisted pair cable), fibre or any combination within the same system.
AMX’s Enova DGX Link system architecture is entirely configurable and scaleable. Fully matrixed configurations are possible from 4x4 to 64x64, and any multiple of 4x inputs/4x outputs in between. An embedded NetLinx controller ensures that all connected devices can be managed, monitored and controlled, while reserve power supplies ensure reliable system operation, minimising the likelihood of complete system shutdown.
On-board SmartScale™ technology converts any video source signal to a digital video output, perfectly scaled for each connected TV/projector. Similarly embedded InstaGate Pro™ technology ensures reliable HDCP signal switching without key constraints/limitations.
Support & Services
Beyond hardware, Habitech has made a significant investment in high level personnel and resources to offer integrators a range of value-added support services. Utilising D-Tools SIX and Visio design software, Habitech can provide improved communication and better technical detail in a fundamentally more digestible format. Other more resource-intensive services (on/off-site), such as system design, the provision of wiring diagrams, cable schematics and system programming are available as chargeable services at competitive market rates.
Commenting Habitech Brand Manager Daryl Brennan said “As home installations become reliant on a successful blend of wired and wireless networks, there’s a greater need to appreciate the implications of transporting different signals and to identify the appropriate ‘grade’ of cable and component infrastructure required. Building on our successful ProNet IP networking initiative, the relationship with AMX is a natural next step for Habitech, enabling us to provide truly integrated control and reliable signal management across HDMI, UTP (twisted pair cable) and fibre.”
AMX Sales Director Jonathan Mangnall said “We are delighted to announce Habitech as our specialist distributor for the residential market. With Habitech’s unrivalled knowledge of the custom install sector, and their focus on service and support, we see them as a key partner in the future growth of our residential business. They have a strong technical team – something that’s extremely important for the CI channel – and very strong and personable management and sales teams. The AMX control and video systems portfolio will complement their current product line-up well. We look forward to developing this further with them.”
