CEDIA Appoints Matt Dodd as Region 1 Education Director (13/3/2013)

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has appointed Matt Dodd to the position of Education Director for CEDIA Region 1.

Matt will head up the development of CEDIA’s expanding education programme within the Region (which includes Europe, Africa, CIS, Middle East, India & Pakistan) which is aimed at improving skills and growing expertise throughout the residential custom installation industry. He will also be working closely with the other CEDIA Education departments worldwide on developing internationally relevant education.

“As Education Chair on the CEDIA Region 1 Board, Matt Dodd has been a key figure in defining the CEDIA education strategy over the past few years,” says CEDIA’s Executive Director, Wendy Griffiths. “We are very pleased to welcome him into this exciting new staff role at CEDIA, where he will be implementing an aggressive plan for improving education and skills training in the industry. He brings considerable education experience to the position, and with this committed focus on education will be able to achieve much more than he could as a volunteer.”

Matt will continue to provide a strategic overview of the CEDIA education programme, working closely with the CEDIA Board and the Association’s Education Committee. His new role will also include adapting and modularising the current CEDIA offerings and delivering content on various platforms to build on the Association’s wealth of on-line education and courses. Matt will also help support the globalisation of the industry by assisting with the production of truly international content.

Matt Dodd is Co-Founder of Thinkingbricks Limited, a highly respected home automation business and also runs Clear Training, a specialist AV training consultancy. Prior to forming Thinkingbricks, Matt spent 10 years in the corporate hospitality marketplace developing new training strategies for the finance and marketing directorate, providing education content to over 15,000 learners worldwide.
