Procella Audio Debuts DA-2800 Power Amplifier at ISE 2013 (24/1/2013)

- The P815 is a very high output active biamplified full-range main speaker, capable of 132dB peak output and designed for very large home cinemas, screening rooms and cinemas up to 15 meters (50 feet) in length

- The P6 is a high output, compact L/C/R and surround loudspeaker, designed for small to medium size home cinemas and professional screening and post/mix rooms

Procella Audio, manufacturer of high-performance high-output speaker systems for home and professional cinema and music applications, announced today that its Integrated System Europe exhibit will consist of a fully active home cinema demo system. In booth 7Q170, the L/C/R speakers will be the Procella P815 active biamplified full-range speaker, and the two-way P6 speaker will be used for the surround channels. Low frequencies will be handled by the dual 18 inch P18 active subwoofer. All speakers will be driven by Procella's new DA-2800DSP and DA-2800 power amplifiers, which will be making their ISE show debut.

The DA-2800 is the first Procella power amplifier, and it makes its ISE show debut this year. Delivering a total of 2,800 Watts into 4 ohm loads, the amplifier is rated at 700 Watts per channel into 4 ohm loads and 360 Watts per channel into 8 ohm loads. Channel pairs can also be bridged to produce 1,400 watts at 8 ohms. Two versions of the four channel amplifier are available. Each has the identical basic power amplifier, with the DA-2800DSP version adding onboard DSP for each channel. The preprogrammed DSP is used to create active crossovers or to optimize the frequency response of Procella loudspeakers and subwoofers. The DA-2800 is the identical amplifier without DSP.

The P815 is a THX (Professional) Approved biamplified three-way full-range screen channel speaker capable of delivering THX reference level playback (105dB) at listening distances of up to 8 meters and suitable for rooms 12 to 15 meters in depth. Capable of producing peak output levels up to 132 dB, the speaker's driver complement includes a 1.5 inch high-frequency pro audio compression driver on a Procella-designed constant directivity waveguide, a new 8 inch high-output midrange, and a 15 inch woofer that extends the full-range speaker's response to 40 Hz. An onboard two-channel power amplifier provides 700 Watts for the midrange and highs and another 700 Watts for low frequencies. Also available is the P815-FP version, which is identical save for the internal amplifier, and is designed for external biamplification with Procella's DA-2800DSP amplifier.

The P6 is a two-way L/C/R and surround channel speaker that employs pro audio components that enable it to produce playback levels and dynamic range exceeding the capabilities of conventional speakers using dome tweeters. These components include a 1 inch high frequency compression driver mounted on a Procella-designed constant directivity waveguide, a high-output 6.5 inch woofer and a Procella Identical Voice™ crossover. Also available is the P6V, which is identical to the wide profile Procella P6 (shown), except for its tall profile, which provides users with an additional design option.

All of these products are currently available, with the following SRPs: the P815 and P18 are €7,500 each; the DA-2800DSP is €4,500; the DA-2800 is €3,500, and the P6 is €1,200 each.
