Crestron Announces Addition of Mitsubishi LCD Display to its Crestron Connected Initiative (12/7/2012)

The Crestron Connected initiative, which embeds Crestron’s control platforms on to third party hardware, really gained traction at this year’s InfoComm with a number of integrated partners showcasing their Crestron Connected devices. The latest addition to the scheme, and a first for the Connected range, was also on show with Mitsubishi releasing its new Crestron Connected LCD display.

The Crestron Connected initiative covers a wide selection of equipment and display devices such as projectors, displays and audio/video receivers to operate seamlessly with Crestron control technologies. It allows for native plug-and-play support for any device that has Crestron embedded within it, providing the framework for a distributed cloud-based control system. The 46-inch LDT462V from Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America is the first flat panel display to join the initiative.

Crestron brings together world-class technology leaders from a spectrum of diverse markets including audio/video, lighting, HVAC, scheduling software, security and many other product categories. These Integrated Partners have incorporated Crestron intelligence into millions of projectors since the programme started in 2010 and Crestron is now exploring other devices too.

“Adoption of Crestron Connected has exceeded expectations,” says Robin van Meeuwen, VP of Sales and Marketing at Crestron International. “We have created the industry standard for communication among all electronic devices.”

The power of Crestron technology has also been adopted by the following Integrated Partners: Canon, Cisco/Tandberg, Cyber Touch, Cyron Lighting, Lencore, Marshall Furniture, Matrox, Middle Atlantic, Optoma, Panasonic, Polycom, Powersoft, Revo Labs, Sony, Surge X, Tecom, Valens, VFI, Wolf Vision, and more.

“We've had incredibly positive feedback to the Crestron Connected initiative,” adds Robin. “We are receiving lots of interest from manufacturers to embed the technology. This is where the technology is going and electronic device manufacturers are recognising that.”

Crestron currently has more than 500 Integrated Partners.
