Stealth Acoustics Releases Critical Performance Measurements Showing Invisible Speakers Rival Visible Alternatives (2/7/2012) Stealth Acoustics has released critical performance measurements on their LR6 and LR3 full-range invisible speakers. This data, acquired by respected industry measurement veteran Ron Saro of Northwest Audio and Acoustic Labs, show the full capabilities of each speaker and can be used in either EASE prediction software, or with the Common Loudspeaker Format (CLF) application. Both EASE and CLF are used to accurately understand and predict speaker performance by systems consultants and top integrators. You may download free CLF viewer software from the CLFgroup at www.clfgroup.org/viewer.htm. CLF data files on Stealth speakers are available from Stealth Acoustics.
“We want to clearly and accurately prove to the professional audio community, and to custom installers, that our totally invisible speakers work as well as visible speakers” stated Steve Olszewski Stealth’s vice president. “Obtaining these critical measurements from a well-respected independent source validates what we already know about our speakers, but these metrics are also an important step in building confidence that we have the best invisible speakers available. Top integrators and specifiers put their reputation on the line when they choose a certain speaker and they need to be sure their choice will perform as expected.” The newly re-voiced Stealth LR6 is a 6” two-way, flat front loudspeaker measuring 12” high by 16” wide that is designed to replace a segment in a wall or ceiling. Fitting into depths of 3.25” or deeper, the LR6 uses a traditional cone woofer and a custom carbon-fiber based high-frequency stage to energize a durable flat front panel which radiates hi-fidelity sound even when covered with typical wall or ceiling paint and coverings. “Our LR – series represents 10 years of continuous research and development in invisible speakers and the level of sound quality we are achieving is as surprising, even to us,” continued Olszewski. “We were already an award winning invisible speaker company with our previous FX series and our latest speakers not only have greatly improved sound, but very impressive radiation characteristics. There aren’t many visible speakers out there that can claim near hemispherical radiation throughout virtually the entire audio range.” Designed for lower directivity or “low-Q” applications, such as conference rooms, board rooms, exhibits and music reproduction, the LR6 offers a frequency response of 45Hz to 18kHz and a maximum output of 103dB at 1 meter. Stealth totally invisible subwoofers are also available in different sizes to add sub-bass extension, for increased impact when needed. Accompanying amplifiers, though not required, are available from Stealth. Stealth’s LR3 model is an 8” 3-way device, employing “Balanced Mid-Range Drive” which dramatically increases the speaker’s directivity index at critical speech frequencies. The LR3 is intended for use in applications where added speech intelligibility is required in combination with broad coverage at other frequencies. Stealth Acoustic products are distributed in the UK by Genesis Technologies Group UK and world-wide by other distributors.
