Wyrestorm Announces Partnership Programme and New Single-Wire Extender Set Range (6/6/2012)

Growing HD Distribution and Control manufacturer continues developing close relations with the market, improving products and service.

Wyrestorm continue the single-cable revolution with the launch of a new range of Extender sets that feature transmission of uncompressed 1080p video and audio with IR control over a single Cat5e/6/7 cable.

Coinciding with the imminent release of our highly anticipated HDBaseT Lite range of matrices, these single cable transmitters and receivers come in three models according to transmission distance – 40m / 131ft (EX-1UTP-IR-40), 70m / 230ft (EX-1UTP-IR-70) and the 120m / 394ft Super Extender (EX-1UTP-IR-120).

Each model features support of up to 2k resolution, 24bit colour depth and 6.75 Gbps bandwidth with full 3D compatibility (Frame Sequential: Blue-ray and Stereoscoptic: Satellite) and full IR control - with 70m and 120m offering Two-way control from source to display and vice versa).

With variety and function very much in mind during the development, the 40m version features an EDID DIP switch on the transmitter to manually encourage transmission between devices, and a cable distance dial on the receiver to fine tune for optimum performance depending on the length of the cable run.

Furthermore, based on market feedback, we also include RS232 on the longer 70m model for integration with third party control.

All models will now also ship as standard with our innovative USB 5V power adaptor that allows each balun to be powered by the USB port on the source or display – both as an effective use of space in cramped installation conditions and even more effective power management – as the extenders only need to be powered when the devices are switched on, your system is far more energy efficient.

We rigorously evaluate the products and practices of our partners to ensure they meet the same high standards we set ourselves, which allows us to give assurances of quality and complete compatibility with Wyrestorm products.

And we have already begun by focusing on a vital area of importance in effective distribution of High Definition signals – Cables and Connectors.

Given the high potential bandwidth demands of the HD transmissions and the 10.2Gbps capacity of the cable required to distribute the signal it is essential for installers to use quality cabling and terminations to avoid issues on site.

As such, following extensive testing, we are happy to endorse Cat5/6 UTP, single mode Fibre and SCP HNC Pro and Pro+ (HDBaseT certified) Cat5/6 cables by Beldon, Webro and SCP as a distribution and control medium for all Wyrestorm products.
