DMi Shows New Boston Acoustics Architectural Series In-Ceiling Designs (7/2/2010)

ISE 2010

DMi D&M Installation Europe is showing the amazing new in-ceiling Architectural Series from Boston Acoustics® for the first time at Integrated Systems Europe 2010. The new CI speaker series which features a revolutionary lighting fixture form, has been nominated for an InAvation Technology Award 2010, in the Residential Loudspeaker category.

All three models – including a subwoofer – are designed to resemble small modern halogen type enclosures, providing the most discrete sound installation speakers yet devised, while employing proprietary Boston Acoustics’ technology and engineering to ensure that this is achieved without any compromise to the company’s renowned sound quality.

The HSi 430 and HSi 435 are 3 1/2” hi/mid enclosures, with round and square bezels respectively; the matching HSi S6W2 subwoofer also comes with alternative bezel forms. In addition to their diminutive size, the speakers feature dramatically reduced bezel visibility – making installations virtually invisible – and magnetically fixed grilles for simple installation. Sophisticated audio engineering, for enhanced sonic realism and wide dispersion, make for an optimum combination of design aesthetic and rich sound reproduction. For installation flexibility, the HSi 430 and HSi 435 are designed for use either in simple pairs for stereo use or in multi-speaker configurations for larger areas.

The HSi S6W2 in-ceiling subwoofer features dual high performance 6” woofers with a 50-180Hz frequency response. The built-in crossover allows for the same stereo amplification as the main speakers, and integrated output terminals enables wiring of either one or two pairs of full-range in-ceiling speakers. The bandpass acoustic enclosure delivers the high output bass necessary for room filling sound, and a flexible port tube makes for easy installation.
