InFocus Announces New UK Distributor for its Home Cinema Projectors (3/11/2009)

InFocus Corporation, the industry pioneer in digital projection technology, has today announced that after seven very successful years InFocus and CSE are to conclude their business relationship. The agreement which takes affect immediately, acknowledges the changing complexion of both companies and the reality that their longer term interests and objectives will inevitably diverge.

InFocus’ home entertainment projector line will now be handled exclusively by Midwich, the leading trade-only distributor of AV, IT and consumer electronics technology products. Initially announced as the exclusive distributor of InFocus commercial projectors in May 2009, Midwich will assume full responsibility for the home cinema portfolio, which includes the upcoming CEDIA award-winning ScreenPlay SP8602 Full HD projector.

Commenting on the move CSE’s Ian Severs said “we’ve enjoyed great success with InFocus but we’re shifting our strategic focus to the luxury custom installation market, whose challenges are somewhat different.” Darren Lewitt, AV director at Midwich, said: “InFocus is a very important and strategic brand for Midwich. As well as our commercial focus, we have a dedicated division that concentrates on the custom installation and consumer channel. As a member of CEDIA, the addition of the ScreenPlay range will strengthen our proposition in the custom install and independent retail markets.”

Midwich has appointed a dedicated InFocus projector specialist to support the significant investment the distributor has made in its CEDIA and independent retail teams over the past 12 months. These teams now boast over 10 dedicated account managers.

Keith Haddock will continue as the PR contact for the InFocus home cinema projector line, working with Andrew Barker, Product Marketing and PR Coordinator for Midwich.
