Domotics Ltd premieres Teletask Domotics Controls and DoIP (22/5/2009)

Stand F7, CEDIA UK Expo 2009

Domotics Ltd. is the UK distributor, installer training and technical support organisation for the Belgian TELETASK Domotics System (www.teletask.eu), which over the last 25 years has evolved into a total integration and automation control system for all electrical devices, appliances and systems in a building – in fact TELETASK was the first company in the World to create such a concept.

TELETASK and Domotics Ltd. are hosting a large display at the CEDIA Expo in June (stand F7) and invite custom installers to take a close look at the TELETASK Domotics System, which is used globally in everything from luxurious palaces to homes for elderly and disabled people, as well as in hotels, showrooms, offices, etc.  While meeting the demands of the most “high-end” installations, the intrinsic efficiency of the Teletask concept opens up a much broader market to top quality controls and the benefits of comfort, convenience, safety, security and energy management.

Teletask’s latest AURUS touch panel with glass front plate, 8 programable buttons, OLED button ID and icon display. The buttons use capacitive touch technology and incorporate LEDs for visual feed back and background illumination (which shows the outline of the button in the dark). The panels also contain an audible feed-back buzzer, an infrared receiver (to allow any function control from remotes) and a temperature sensor. The panel can be fitted into a single-size standard wall box (either vertically or horizontally) and has a single plug-in connector to the Teletask bus cable, and thus can be installed in seconds.

TELETASK domotics is a bus-based control system with a central programmable processor and an array of actuators (relays, dimmers, AC and DC motor controls, IR/RS232 signal generators), which can drive virtually any functional device or system.  A range of user interfaces is also provided including push-button and capacitive technology touch panels, pre-formatted touch screens (no separate programming required), infrared remotes, and proximity readers for access control.  Addressable digital and analogue input interfaces are supplied for integrating conventional retractive switches, PIRs, alarm systems, contacts, temperature, light and humidity sensors, etc.

DoIP (Domotics over Internet Protocol) functionality is enabled via Ethernet connections in the TELETASK central processors. This means that the whole domotics system is accessible through the TELETASK open source command codes to fully customisable touch screens (e.g. AMX, Crestron, Hitachi), as well as PDAs, smart phones (including iPhone and iPod touch) and any PC connected to a wi-fi LAN/WAN or the internet.

The software is also modular, with the standard set consisting of a main system set-up programme, an event timing scheduler, access control card security ID log, macro command generator for RS232 or IR flashers outputs, and a graphics design package for creating pictorial displays of a property on any PC-driven device. Pre-defined icons are “dragged and dropped” over the pictorial display to represent the various control points and functions.

Domoticcs Ltd. has supported several installers recently in defining solutions for Grade 1 and Grade 2 listed buildings, where the simplicity of the TELETASK cabling infrastructure, and the ability to combine all controls into a single package, have been key selling points.
