Denon announces fourth generation Denon Link digital interface (23/3/2009)

Denon achieves unparalleled sound through groundbreaking new fourth generation Denon Link technology

Denon, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment products, is proud to announce a new milestone in achieving the finest sound quality. Debuting in the upcoming DVD-A1UD Blu-ray universal player, the new fourth generation Denon Link digital interface provides the world’s first jitter-free transmission of digital audio in combination with HDMI. When attached to a Denon A/V surround amplifier that supports the latest Denon Link, enthusiasts will enjoy the best sonic quality possible with High Definition audio. The first products to offer this groundbreaking Denon technology will be the DVD-A1UD as well as the multi award-winning AVP-A1HDA A/V preamplifier and the AVC-A1HDA A/V amplifier.

Denon Link is a proprietary, high-quality digital audio transmission technology that utilizes a real-time balanced transmission system to protect the signal from external noise. The fourth version adds the exclusive Denon Flow Control feature: when using the HDMI interface for A/V output, it takes over the master clock and jitter control – a feature that will be especially useful when used in upcoming Denon A/V receivers. The master clock that operates the D/A converter of the A/V surround receiver/amplifier is transmitted to the player, enabling the circuitry to be operated while sharing the same clock, thereby achieving digital audio transmission with virtually no jitter. When combined with a suitable Denon A/V surround receiver/amplifier, sound localization becomes more precise and a greater sense of space is produced in the sound.

Demanding users will finally be able to enjoy the level of sonic quality that is expected from HD audio.

Current owners of the reference class surround pre-/amplifiers AVP-and AVC-A1HDA will get the opportunity to update their devices for free via the Internet. Otherwise, the updgrade will be automatically added along with the handy Audyssey Dynamic Volume feature (suggested retail price: £75).
