Integrated Systems Russia to double in size for 2008 (27/8/2008)

New venue, new exhibitors, and new themed pavilions will enhance second edition of Moscow show

Underlining the enormous growth in the regional market for professional AV and electronic systems integration, the organisers of this year's IS Russia tradeshow are predicting that the event will be twice the size of the inaugural show in 2007.

Daria Nedumova, ISR Project Manager for show co-organiser MidExpo, says: "Last year we had 1,950 net square metres of space reserved for Integrated Systems Russia. This year the figure is 4,250 net square metres, and 85% of that is now sold. With another three months to go before the show is due to open, we are confident that we will sell out."

A joint venture between the established Moscow-based events organiser MidExpo and Integrated Systems Events, IS Russia made its debut in 2007 at the Gostiny Dvor exhibition hall. This year's show will be held from 30 October to 1 November at the brand-new Crocus Expo convention centre, which offers more modern facilities, a broader variety of meeting spaces for education and training, and greater room for future expansion.

Among the many international exhibitors returning to this year's show after participating in 2007 are Mitsubishi Electric, Crestron, AMX, Extron, Kramer Electronics, Christie, Chief Manufacturing, Vantage, Lighthouse Technologies and Jupiter Systems. New exhibitors confirmed for 2008 include Sony, Barco, Panasonic, Planar, Canon, Philips, Sonance, Danish Interpretation Systems, Altinex, Taiden, Tecom Electronics and Sharp.

"This year, even more than in 2007, our exhibitors will represent the complete range of technologies for both commercial and residential AV applications," adds Nedumova. "From the largest LED and rear-projection walls to the most compact control and distributed audio systems, IS Russia 08 will present a range of solutions that is truly unique to this region."

New for IS Russia 08 will be two themed pavilions on the show floor - one dedicated to Digital Signage, the other to Digital Education. Both will allow attendees to see real-world solutions that demonstrate the benefits of AV and electronic systems technology in relaxed, comfortable surroundings, with the Digital Education space attracting the official backing of Russia's Federal Agency of Education.

As in 2007, IS Russia will be co-located with Hi-Tech Building & House, MidExpo's established showcase for building management, home networking, security, lighting control and HVAC technologies. Attendees to IS Russia will receive complimentary admission to Hi-Tech Building & House, and vice versa - further broadening the appeal of both events to exhibitors and visitors alike.

On the eve of IS Russia 08, MidExpo and Integrated Systems Events will co-host a one-day conference entitled 'Professional AV Technologies and Building Management Systems in Commercial and Residential Applications' at Moscow's Aerostar Hotel. This will be followed, during the three days of the tradeshow, by an expanded programme of training and conference opportunities at Crocus Expo, combined with education sessions from InfoComm International and CEDIA. Further details of these programmes will be announced shortly.

Summing up, Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events, says: "The unique position occupied by this event within Russia and the CIS now makes it a 'must-attend' show for a wide range of international exhibitors. We are delighted that the show has attracted such wide support from new and existing participants, and believe that, with our new venue, new themed pavilions and enhanced education programme, the 2008 show will build significantly on the success we achieved in Moscow last year."
