Henley Designs announces the TIDE Hybrid interconnect cable from Van den Hul (6/7/2008)

Henley Designs, the leading UK distributor, has announced the launch of the TIDE Hybrid, a very competitively priced balanced interconnect cable from Van den Hul.

Most lower-cost interconnect cables have a co-axial structure which means that one leg of the audio signal has to flow down the screening braid where it is exposed to the increasing number of spurious HF and RF signals originating from cell phones and the numerous other electric devices. By contrast the more expensive interconnects use two identical conductors surrounded by a separate overall screening layer.

Henley Designs has just confirmed details of a new interconnect cable from Van den Hul that has been able to build upon the design principles of its more expensive high-end interconnects. The new TIDE Hybrid cable has two separately insulated signal wires are made of the highest grade OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) with a dense protective silver coating. The use of special techniques during manufacturing helps to prevent the aging of the wire, often resulting from external processes like bending and/or soldering.

There is a double layer of screening with a braided metal shield on the outside over the patented Linear Structured Carbon(r) (L.S.C.) layer that extends the lifespan of this cable even further. The extremely flexible orange coloured outer jacket is made of HULLIFLEX(r), a plasticiser and Halogen free material.

The TIDE Hybrid is available in all standard lengths starting at 0.8 meters and pre-terminated with high quality 24 Carat gold plated RCA connectors. Anticipated retail prices for the cables will be in the region of £130.00 for the 0.8 metre version.
