Lutron uses CEDIA Expo to demonstrate its latest lighting control technology (13/5/2008) Stand D10, CEDIA UK Expo 2008 Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., world renowned for offering flexible solutions for high profile installations, is showing its full range of artificial lighting control expertise at Cedia expo this year. In addition to the new Lutron GRAFIK Eye(r) QS lighting control technology, the company's renowned HomeWorks(r) system, new seeTouch(r) International HomeWorks keypads, latest Rania(r) RF HomeWorks keypads and lamp dimmers, sophisticated Sivoia(r) QED blinds, curtains and roman blinds drives, new Sivoia QS technology and latest consumer dimming range, including the new Lyneo(r) 0-10 dimmer, will be on stand.
GRAFIK Eye QS Taking its lead from the flagship GRAFIK Eye system, the latest Lutron product, the GRAFIK Eye QS, takes control to the next level with new features that build on the much loved original's technology. Additions to the original GRAFIK Eye design include a more advanced user interface and automatic control of as many as three groups of Lutron Sivoia QS motorised blinds. From a wall-mounted control or an infrared, wireless remote control, GRAFIK Eye QS can transform a room into a number of natural or artificially lit scenes that have been pre-programmed into the system. For monitoring energy consumption levels, the new GRAFIK Eye QS also includes a display screen that enables the user to see light levels and energy savings achieved in each zone as the lamps are dimmed. SeeTouch International On show at Cedia is the new Lutron seeTouch international keypad product range for use with the HomeWorks system. Based on proven Lutron technology, the product brings to market all the convenient features of the original seeTouch range, but in a design format preferred in many geographical markets. With a new level of one-touch control of lights and blinds, the Lutron seeTouch international keypad range offers users the choice of personalised engraving, infrared receiver control for intelligent remotes and contact closure inputs for connection to motion detectors and door sensors. Rania RF Wall Dimmers and Lamp Dimmers The HomeWorks RF Wall Dimmer can control incandescents, magnetic and electronic low-voltage lights, has auto load-type detection, can operate a maximum 450W and is compatible with two- and three-way lights. As a wireless unit, the RF Wall Dimmer is straightforward to install and ideal for locations where drilling out the walls is not an option. The HomeWorks RF Lamp Dimmer can control incandescent lamps with a maximum load of 300W. No wiring is necessary for installation, as the dimmer is plugged directly into the lamp. With the HomeWorks RF Lamp Dimmer, integrated lighting control is now available for bedside, living room and floor lamps. Sivoia QS Lutron Sivoia QS is the company's most recent advancement in natural lighting control technology, allowing for seamless integration of electric light and daylight without the use of additional interfaces. Blinds and lights can be controlled together through Lutron's GRAFIK Eye QS or via seeTouch QS keypads. This next generation of ultra-quiet, precision control for Lutron Shading Solutions enhances design, and adds flexibility at any stage of a project. Sivoia QED Lutron Sivoia QED technology is also on display and a new torque shade system will be demonstrated. Sivoia QED offers users complete daylight control for both residential and commercial applications and is the ultimate in motorised roller and roman blind technology, providing elegance, convenience and versatility. The innovative design features a near silent electronic drive (44 dBA at three feet), minimal light gaps around the roller blind, simple installation, and a flexible design that can work in virtually any installation. In addition to offering the ultimate in daylight control for roller blinds, the Sivoia QED High Torque Drapery Track enables the control of heavier drapes and provides users with a narrower motor drive, which sits flush with the width of the curtain track. An enhancement of the Sivoia QED range is the new curtain track system that offers a narrower drive that is flush with the width of the drapery track and boasts a 30 percent increase in torque, allowing the system to carry heavier curtains. The new curtain track holds a maximum of 47 kg of fabric on a 2745 mm track, and 36 kg on a 5486 mm track. HomeWorks Also on show is the company's renowned HomeWorks lighting control system, which provides convenient, reliable operation of lighting and other home electronics from keypads throughout the home. The advanced lighting control system's enhanced capabilities bring unprecedented flexibility, power and versatility to home lighting control and streamline interactive connections with other home systems. In addition, the Phillips Pronto can be used to wirelessly control HomeWorks and this is demonstrated to full effect on stand at the show. Consumer Dimming Range The latest range of quality Lutron consumer dimmers ensures that the company's sleek lines and signature styling is accessible to all homeowners. Designed to fit into an existing light switch fixture, there are at present five products in the range including Lyneo, Lutron's basic slide dimmer and Rania lamp dimmer, a discrete floor and table lamp dimmer which can fade lamps on and off with a simple tap - while memorising the last light level set. The range also includes Rania and Rania IR, which are multi-location dimmers that are both operated by the touch of a button and when switched back on, the dimmer memorises the last lighting level chosen. Universal dimming options are also available on the Rania range that auto-sense the load type - both low voltage and incandescent sources. Andrew Bechgaard, head of marketing for EMEA, comments: "Cedia provides the perfect platform for Lutron to demonstrate its product innovation and scalability. From a basic slide dimmer, to a state-of-the-art lighting control system, Lutron continues to offer the ultimate in lighting control products and packages".
