Professional Computing Association supports CONTECH 2009 (6/5/2008) There has been an extremely positive response to the launch of the first international trade-only exhibition to be held in the UK covering the vast array of consumer technology products ranging from audio and other home and mobile entertainment systems to home media and information and communication devices. One of the latest developments is that the Professional Computing Association, the trade association that represents almost 1,000 dealers, resellers, manufacturers and direct sellers of computer equipment and services in the UK, has committed to support the new CONTECH 2009 event. PCA Chief Executive Officer Keith Warburton says: "All of our members are involved in the converged technologies that CONTECH embraces, and this is the first trade-only event that aims to meet their needs, bringing all the critically important suppliers together under one roof. We'll be there and we'll be encouraging our members to attend. We're very excited about it. CONTECH will be held on the rescheduled and more convenient dates of 12th/13th May 2009 at the Emirates Stadium, London and will be strictly for the trade. Attendees will be buyers, retailers, wholesalers, resellers, installers, sales co-operatives and industry professionals from the consumer electronic, information technology and communications industries. Event Director, Richard Milbourn who has over 20 years experience in organising and promoting a wide range of exhibitions at top venues throughout the UK, says that the Emirates Stadium was selected to host the new CONTECH exhibition as it is ideally suited for hosting specialist trade exhibitions and was named London's Business Venue of the Year 2007. Emirates Stadium is located minutes from central London with excellent transport links, making it easily accessible from the City, West End and Continental Europe for all exhibitors and attendees. Milbourn added, "The selection of this location proved to be of the utmost importance as preliminary discussions with potential overseas exhibitors indicated that one of their main requirements would be for CONTECH to be held in Central London. The new St Pancras International Eurostar Station, and the City Airport are only two and eight miles away respectively from the Emirates Stadium, and as such should further facilitate travelling arrangements. "The objective," Milbourn said, "Is to make CONTECH all embracing with the widest possible range of different products being on display to reflect the increasing use of consumer electronic and digital gadgets in the home for entertainment, business, communication and education." The maximum stand size is therefore being limited to 30 sq m in order to cater for more exhibitors to ensure that there will be many more different products, services and systems featured and so that exhibitors can compete on a 'level playing field' and not on the size of their marketing budget. UK and overseas suppliers will be displaying the following: Home entertainment - TVs; DVDs; home cinemas; home servers and recorders; Audio entertainment - HiFi; loudspeakers and high performance audios; Home media - digital imaging, cameras and videos; MP3s; computing; games and memory solutions; Communication - telecommunications; cable; mobiles; navigation; IP; net solutions and antennas. CONTECH is an extremely cost effective marketing and sales opportunity. A wide variety of sizes and shapes of shell stands and executive boxes are available and an early bird discount of 20 percent is available to exhibitors that book space before 31st July 2008. Stands are being allocated on a first-booked, first-allocated basis. Exhibitors will also benefit from participating in the extensive promotional campaigns for CONTECH including editorial coverage in the Show Catalogue, and a page of information on the exhibition website. Hama UK, the leading consumer electronics accessory company in the UK is one of a number of market leading companies already committed to exhibiting at CONTECH 2009.
