Comm-Tec Announces Proactive and Interactive Pro-Connect System (1/5/2008)

File Sharing Aided by Pro-Connect System in Presentation Environments

Meetings are fast becoming far more interactive. With many participants holding appropriate files on their laptop computers, often these need to be shared with the rest of the audience to encourage discussion and decision making.

Until now, a lead from the projector has had to be passed around those that wish to contribute information from their laptop. However, that is about to change. The new Pro-Connect module from Comm-Tec means that a connection facility can be provided in the body of the conference or meeting room.

The Pro-Connect provides a pop-up panel that reveals appropriate sockets into which computers and other equipment can be easily connected. However, when not in use, the Pro-Connect simply folds down into the table or other work surface for a smart, flush finish.

Using a tilting angular construction with pneumatic lift assist and a mechanical latching mechanism, the Pro-Connect PTF-500 series can easily be opened to provide access to input connections, or it can be lowered flush into the worktop surface when not in use. The unit is opened and closed by simply pressing down on the top panel.

The Pro-Connect is configured with one AC power outlet for plug type G to BS 1363 and two RJ-45 for Network or Telephone. Also, two RJ-45 female and an IEC-60320/C14 male connector. The standard finish is in a smart matt black anodised aluminium.

For involvement and inclusion of an audience, the Comm-Tec Pro-Connect PTF-500 system is the ideal solution.
