Somfy Extends Integration Capability With Universal RTS Interface II (9/4/2008) Somfy enhances their offering and provides additional flexibility to system integrators with the introduction of the Universal RTS Interface II. This interface can be used to communicate between home automation or other third party systems and Somfy's RTS motors and controls. The URTSII offers enhanced functionality because it is an addressable 16 channel RTS interface that can be triggered via RS232 and RS485. Both RS232 and RS485 are switch selectable. The URTSII also allows front-end home automation and building management systems with native RS485 to control 256 RTS motors individually. Additionally, local control of the URTSII is available using IR. This new versatile URTSII allows motorized window treatments and projection screens to be easily operated and integrated into commercial and residential projects by offering a broad choice of compatible controls. This addition to Somfy's robust product line of motors and controls strengthens Somfy's position as a total solution provider by providing adaptable interfaces to accommodate a wide range of project needs and requirements. And as with all Somfy products, the new URTSII is backed by a 5 year warranty.
