AMX in Control at Light + Building (3/4/2008) AMX, worldwide leader in automation and control, technology management and audio/video switching and distribution, will be demonstrating its advanced control solutions at the Light + Building exhibition in Frankfurt. The AMX stand is being run by the company's recently formed, dedicated European operation, AMX Central Europe, which is headquartered in Stuttgart. At the show AMX will be exhibiting its building automation and control products using two working demonstration areas, which will feature systems for residential and commercial installations. AMX systems provide totally integrated control of audio/video, internal environment and communications devices from intuitive touch screen panel user interfaces. The company's Modero range of touch panels has recently been extended to include ultra-stylish next generation panels and keypads, which have been completely restyled for the contemporary residential and commercial markets. The new, sleek panels and keypads will be on display at the AMX stand. In common with all AMX touch panels, the new style panels are operated, by simply touching the relevant icon on the screen, which then offers up the possible control options available. Using easy-to-follow graphics and familiar icon displays, the operator can turn heating and cooling controls up or down, select and play music, operate the television and DVD/video recorder, switch lights on or off and open and close electric blinds or curtains anywhere in a building without leaving the comfort of their armchair Furthermore, complete room ambience settings can be pre-programmed into the system to enable a particular set up to be created, literally, at the touch of a button. Intelligent programming of the touch panels ensures that the control options for all devices use a consistent layout and icon imagery, avoiding the need for users to negotiate different control units. This means that anybody can operate any device with the minimum of instruction. In actual fact, a newcomer to the system can virtually 'guess' their way around it, because of the intuitive design of the graphical interface. Complementing these latest developments in control technology, AMX will be exhibiting its extended portfolio of audio visual storage and distribution products, including AutoPatch professional matrix switchers, Endeleo media distribution products, and the Matrix audio controller line. These products will be demonstrated with the latest versions of AMX's MAX digital content servers. The AMX Central Europe office starts trading from 1st April 2008. It will house sales and technical support staff and will include classrooms for AMX University, the company's worldwide training programme, and a Product Showroom, which will provide a venue for AMX dealers, industry consultants, architects and interior designers to showcase and demonstrate AMX solutions to their customers.
