Vigilant Vision launches new Media DVR (4/3/2008)

Vigilant Vision, one of the UK's fastest growing security equipment suppliers, has launched Media DVR, an innovative new system that combines a high quality 8" LCD display, digital video recorder (DVR), DVD rewriter and photoframe functionality in a single compact unit. With an expected RRP of £375, it provides a cost effective solution for a wide range of industrial and domestic security, surveillance, video recording and point of sale applications.

Running most industry standard protocols, the Vigilant Vision Media DVR is compatible with all commonly used CCTV cameras including speed domes. It provides full onscreen PTZ control for up to four cameras and recordings can be programmed by time of day or triggered by motion or sensor detection that can be individually set for each channel. The system offers a range of flexible screen modes including split screen, picture on picture and full screen.

The Vigilant Vision Media DVR can be used either standalone or networked using TCIP enabling remote monitoring from any Internet-enabled location using a standard web-browser. The inbuilt DVR stores up to two weeks of video recordings which can be downloaded rapidly to the built-in DVD drive, SD or CF cards for distribution, archiving or evidential purposes.

This new system also offers the flexibility to run other applications whilst the security system operates in the background. It provides a feature rich solution for a wide range of point of sale applications powering an unlimited number of monitors for the playback of promotional material recorded onto DVD, SD or CF cards. In the domestic environment, it enables users to combine home security with entertainment using the DVD player to view films or use the memory cards to provide photo frame functionality.
