Niko adds 7 inch touchscreen and feedback module to its home automation range (5/2/2008) Integrated Systems Europe 2008 Distributed exclusively in the UK by leading custom installation distributor, USD Limited, Niko, the Belgian market-leading control company, caused a stir at ISE 2008 with the launch of its all-new touchscreen control panel and matching system feedback module. A new addition to the Niko range of Home Automation products is a userfriendly touchscreen, which acts as the central control panel integrating all the controls in a home. This new touchscreen from Niko makes control of the installation extremely simple since all the buttons on the screen can be used as if they were ordinary switches. For increased user confidence, every control function performed on the screen is confirmed by a short beep and any programming is easily performed using the supplied PC software. With a 7inch screen which has a 16:9 image and a resolution of 800x400 pixels, the new Niko touchscreen is stylish and attractive, finished in HIMACS, a derivative of the well-known Corian, a scratch-resistant material popular as an alternative high quality to granite in kitchen worktops. The touchscreen includes backlighting for ensure ease of use; and an energy saving facility: lighting that fades down after a few minutes without use. The 05-207 feedback module is the interface between the bus of the Nikobus home automation system and touchscreen (and, or in addition to, Nikobus bus push-buttons). This new module provides a clear overview of the status of the full system on the touchscreen or through the indicators on the push-buttons used on the Nikobus network. Thus it will keep you informed on the status of the system - even telling you whether the lights in the bathroom are still on or if the window in a meeting room has been left open. This feedback module is easily programmed using the Nikobus PC software provided and up to five feedback modules and five touchscreens can be used in any installation allowing the simplest to the largest projects to be controlled. The Niko touchscreen is the latest addition to the product ranges available from Niko, which continues to develop its home automation offerings to provide a whole range of cost effective and easily integrated solutions for the 21st century home and office environment.
