Helvar previews its 458 dimmer (4/2/2008)

Integrated Systems Europe 2008

Helvar, the leading European provider of energy-saving lighting systems including electronic ballasts and lighting control components is exhibiting at ISE 2008 on Stand A105. The company will be showcasing a series of new products for the commercial and residential European lighting markets.

As will be demonstrated on the stand, Helvar products can be used as single components or combined into lighting systems to achieve excellent solutions for residential, commercial and architectural environments. State-of-the-art innovation ensures products are under continuous development. Energy saving is the primary driver in ballast development (both magnetic and electronic) as well as in the lighting control solutions. Helvar products are the industry forerunners and comprehensive production and testing methods ensure outstanding and consistent product quality.

ATTRACTIONS ON THE STAND INCLUDE:

Delegates visiting the Helvar stand will be able to preview the company's brand new dimmer: the 458. With eight dimmable channels rated at 10 amps, the 458 is suitable for all types of commercial, corporate, marine or residential application, the dimmer has been eagerly anticipated by designers, installers and integrators in the EMEA region.

Three years under development, the 458 is compatible with Helvar's established Imagine and Digidim systems. the 458 also offers a wide choice of user interfaces, including Helvar push-button panels, sliders, LCD touchpanels or third-party equipment. The 458 complies with all relevant European standards including the WEEE and RoHS directives.

Full functionality of the DIGIDIM Router - the first Ethernet-ready DALI router for commercial lighting systems - will be demonstrated on the stand. The Router can link together multiple DALI networks (up to 64 devices each) to form large lighting control systems suitable for corporate applications. The Router offers networked control and system monitoring functionality not previously available with DALI systems. Maintenance tasks are simplified as the router can fully automate the reprogramming of a single ballast failure: switch off, replace ballast, then switch on and all settings are restored. No central controller is required, and the distributed intelligence of the system eliminates any single point of failure.

The LCD TouchPanel offers Helvar's renowned build quality combined with cutting-edge design flair. With a full colour 3.5" high resolution touch screen the TouchPanel also offers first-class display quality combined with attractive looks that further boost the product's appeal to the marketplace. The built-in interface offers the user a configuarable background image and button design, and a range of fascia plate finishes are available to ensure harmony with any interior design scheme.

Also on display is the DIGIDIM 4 a cost-effective, out-of-the-box lighting control solution, that is simple to install, easy to operate and versatile in application. It comprises a four-circuit dimmer, a seven-button pre-programmed control panel, available in a choice of high quality plate finishes, and a hand-held remote control unit.

You can also get an introduction to the Lighting Router - the central element of the Imagine( system that enables end-users to programme, control and monitor their lighting system via a PC or even over the Internet.
