The iDom Group claims bigger is better (28/1/2008)

Following 12 months of collaboration, UK based Flamingbox and Avnet Technology of Dublin have founded the iDom Group to raise the standards of the Custom Install industry.

Members will benefit from enhanced relationships with key vendors, profit from group buying power and gain from shared technical training sessions. A key advantage to members is the collaborative "Hot Swap" sessions held monthly in order to learn from each others business successes and challenges.

Key geographic based custom install companies throughout the world will be invited to join the iDom Group to benefit from the collaborative power such an alliance can enjoy.

iDom is keen to set new standards which are currently overlooked by the industry such as standardisation for rack builds and the quality and continuity of core components. A key strategy for iDom is to raise the awareness of the industry to those outside to gain and help train new recruits for the industry as a whole.

John Walsh, AvnetÕs Managing Director said "Following the surge in the market for residential technology, we were seeking a structured expansion path. With iDom we will learn from each other, grow more successfully and share our expertise in this specialised market to offer the most qualified and experienced team in the marketplace."

Dean Gillings, Managing Director of Flamingbox said "The implementation of best practice standards for our rack build operation has increased efficiency by a staggering 50% and reduced wastage by 25%."
