Vantage announces WebPoint 2.0 giving remote access to all Vantage controllers (19/12/2007)

Stand J23, Integrated Systems Europe 2008

WebPoint(tm) 2.0 allows for remote monitoring and modification of home system

Vantage has announced that WebPoint(tm) 2.0 is now available. Utilizing a PC or a web-enabled handheld device, the homeowner can access, monitor and modify their Vantage system from anywhere in the world. This newest addition from Vantage is fully compatible with any Vantage system. WebPoint 2.0 has been a highly requested and much anticipated item from both Vantage custom installers and system owners alike.

WebPoint 2.0 is a highly desirable product for both the homeowner and the system installer. Providing the homeowner with a greater deal of control over their system, without the need for a service call from the installer, gives them the additional control they desire. This added control provides a powerful additional incentive for the homeowner to purchase the system.

This is a unique Vantage software program that provides the homeowner the ability to schedule his own events, set his own scenes, and access his Vantage system from anywhere, via the network or Internet. By providing homeowners with the ability to control and monitor lights, thermostats, and other systems that are integrated with a Vantage controller, not only does it become more convenient, it also enhances the customers peace-of-mind while away from home.

While WebPoint 2.0 has given a significant amount of control to the homeowner, none of the changes made will alter or modify the original system programming provided by the installer. WebPoint 2.0 provides significant flexibility to the homeowner, without compromising the original programming. Permanent changes to the program would still be a service that would be provided by the custom installer.

Facility managers will also love WebPoint 2.0 since it can connect to more than one controller and give complete control of a larger facility or campus from one easy to use web interface.

New features to WebPoint 2.0 include:
1. Compatibility with the InFusion and QLink system.
2. Improved, simplified Web 2.0 style user interface with dragging sliders, no page refreshes, and new themes.
3. Analog/USB camera support. WebPoint can save video clips when it detects motion, allowing the homeowner to answer the question, "Who came to my Front Door today?"

We think that both homeowners and the custom installer will be very pleased with WebPoint 2.0. It gives the homeowner that control and remote connectivity they crave yet it does not allow them to disrupt the original installers programming in anyway.
