CEA analysts predict consumer electronics devices of tomorrow will be personalized and far more powerful than today's products. "In this important report, CEA market research highlights these areas that hold the most significant potential in the market," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA. "Technologies that soon will change the lives of consumers are on drawing boards and in development labs waiting to hit store shelves, and this report provides helpful insight into trends in innovation." Geared toward industry professionals, the publication provides analysis of each of the five trends as well as market forecasts for the upcoming year. Other topics covered for each trend include consumer perspectives, partnerships, key players and public policy issues. This year CEA added "trends" to the title of the publication to showcase promising technologies and related retail and business issues that will shape the future. The 2008 edition of Five Technology Trends to Watch also includes a special section dedicated to the future of consumer electronics focusing on business opportunities in the virtual world, the future of display technologies and what's developing in multi-touch technology.
