News Vantage announces new Thermostat designed for the integrated home (13/11/2007) New multi-function thermostat has a more contemporary look Vantage, the industry leader in whole-home automation solutions, announced today the availability of a new communicating thermostat that features a more contemporary look and an easy to read, back-lit display screen. Utilizing the touch-sensitive control dial on the face of the thermostat the homeowner can temporarily override the current program to adjust the temperature to the desired set point. Unless told otherwise, the thermostat will default back to the system programming in one hour and not disrupt scheduled heating or cooling events. A communicating thermostat is an essential ingredient in a truly automated home. This product provides the means to send signals to touchscreens located throughout the house and give the homeowner instant feedback regarding the current status of their homes environmental settings and the ability to make adjustments as needed. Aside from providing the homeowner with instant feedback, this new Vantage thermostat was designed to make things easier for the custom installer. Instead of requiring different thermostats for different systems, the new thermostat easily integrates into most household HVAC systems including single-stage or multistage heating and cooling systems or heat pumps. An additional benefit to the Vantage thermostat is that it can directly receive signals from both internal and external sensors, eliminating the need for additional hardware to interpret the signal. Internal and external temperature reading are easily visible on the thermostat display or transmitted to Vantage touchscreens giving the homeowner instant access to the current status of their homes environmental status. The new Vantage communicating Thermostat is available from an Authorized Vantage dealer and is compatible with any Vantage lighting control and automation system.
