ITC Introduces Instant Tool-Less European Coaxial Connectors for A/V Installers (13/11/2007)

ITC (Instant Tool-less Connector), a division of The Quest Group (parent company of AudioQuest), announces its new cost-effective series of coaxial connectors specifically designed for A/V installers in Europe and other regions with the same connector standards. ITC's novel, patented system provides a quick and cost-effective alternative to soldering or compression methods.

Current solder and compression termination systems require multiple tools or dies to make a connection. ITC's solutions, however, do not require a tool for termination, a significant benefit for residential and commercial A/V system installers. The tool-less system lowers costs by reducing termination time, complexity, and failure rate.

To ensure long-term, reliable connections, the devices from ITC feature a captive center pin that securely grips onto the center conductor using a unique spring tension system for maximum contact and conductivity. The toothed outer retainer ring holds the connector firmly in place while spinning inside the product to provide torsional strain relief for increased reliability. In addition, ITC connectors are unique in their ability to be easily reused.

"Instead of simply introducing products made for U.S. markets, we chose to listen to European distributors and put an emphasis on the delivery of a connector that could make the biggest difference to the professional installation practitioner in the European market, as well as those with the same coaxial connector standards," said William Low, CEO of The Quest Group.

"In Europe, the proliferation of satellite video and cable television have contributed to a very widespread use of what are variously know as 'coax' or 'Euro antenna' connectors, depending on the country," continued Low. "Time and cost issues are major factors for installers wherever they are in the world. ITC's tool-less system reduces termination time, while the connectors' high performance reduces failure rates. Both of these advantages add up to significant cost savings for European installers."

The new series of ITC European coaxial connectors is available in F, BNC, and RCA connector configurations for 18-, 20- and 24-AWG coax cable. Additional models will be available at the end of Q3. Prices range from EU 0.425 to EU 1.15 each.
