Xantech eliminates confusion and clutter with SmartPad LCD controllers (18/10/2007)

CEDIA US Expo 2007

SmartPad LCDs Make It Easy To Be In Control

So many remote controls, so many instructions to read and so much to learn. Why would anyone want to fiddle with a controller for each device? Xantech's new SmartPad LCD allow users to control virtually every major system in a home, from the entertainment system to lighting, heating, air conditioning and more. Just as importantly, Xantech engineered the SmartPad LCDs with an easy-to-understand, simple-to-use presentation. It eliminates the rows of confusing buttons and clutter of multiple wall panels throughout the home, and looks great too!

With their ease of use, affordability, and intuitive operation, Xantech's SmartPad LCD controllers offer the perfect combination of form and function, while providing the perfect solution to the dilemma of difficult-to-use remote controls that often leave the end-user frustrated and unhappy.

SmartPad LCDs

The SmartPad LCD touch panel series consists of three versions (SPLCD64V, SPLCD64G, SPLCD39G,) of interactive in-wall keypads featuring two distinct sizes, 3.9-inch and 6.4-inch displays, so integrators will never have a problem finding the right panel for the job.

The SmartPad 6.4-inch display (SPLCD64V) is equipped with video capability that gives users the option of Picture-in-Picture and full-screen video display, as well as the ability to control and monitor security cameras and more directly from the touchscreen.

All of Xantech's SmartPad LCDs are designed for ease of programming, thanks to the intuitive and easy-to-use Dragon Drop-IR programming software using either the RS232 or USB ports located behind the detachable faceplate. Each touch panel comes with an extensive library of built-in IR codes and the ability to learn IR codes via the learning eye or from Xantech's Dragon Drop-IR software. Dragon 2.1, Xantech's new version of Dragon, allows dealers and programmers with little or no experience using software to quickly configure sophisticated control and distribution devices and systems, making Xantech Corporation's products much more accessible to dealers and programmers.

The SmartPad LCDs are designed as stand-alone controllers with the ability to transmit IR commands onto the standard Xantech three-wire IR bus.

All SPLCD touchscreen controllers feature the following:

* Self-contained touchscreen controller featuring IR and RS422 serial output. * Fully customizable display graphics. * Source component status feedback (with certain Xantech components). * Simple programming with Xantech's Universal Dragon Drop-IR(tm) software. * Built-in IR receiver. * Internal pre-programmed IR code library, IR learning capability. * Front panel IR learning eye. * Front panel mounted programming interface with RS232 and USB connection. * IR pass-through to standard Xantech IR bus, as well as IR expansion bus. * RS422 serial output for maximum 4000-foot range (use optional RS422232 converter to convert to RS232). * Voltage-triggered sequencer with both high and low voltage triggers.
