News SpeakerCraft debuts AccuFit Ultra Slim series of shallow depth, enclosed ceiling speakers (3/10/2007) CEDIA US Expo 2007 SpeakerCraft, America's original manufacturer of in-wall speakers, announces the release of the AccuFit Ultra Slim series of ceiling speakers. "Space may have been called the final frontier, but it isn't always easy to find," says Jeff Francisco, SpeakerCraft's V.P. of engineering. "All custom installers have had to confront installs in which it was difficult if not impossible to install standard in-ceiling speakers. We recognized the problem and set out to create a solution." Not content to make an ordinary shallow speaker, SpeakerCraft went to work creating a small masterpiece. The Accufit Ultra Slim models feature a single dome tweeter surrounded by four 3-inch drivers. Two of which are mid-range and the other two are woofers. The use of multiple small drivers with neodymium magnets allow for greater bass response, sound pressure levels and dispersion. The rear of the speaker is completely sealed in a zinc and powder coated steel enclosure. The enclosure not only assures consistent sound quality regardless of placement but also limits sound transfer into adjacent rooms. With a total depth of only 50 millimeters, just under 2-inches, this speaker will fit in a myriad of different applications. Ultra thin walls, ceilings where drywall has been placed over an existing surface or simply any install with extreme depth restrictions are all situations for which the AccuFit Ultra Slim is a perfect solution. SpeakerCraft, established in 1976, devoted itself for more than a decade to the design and development of architectural loudspeakers and became known as the prime OEM for many well-known, in-wall speaker brands in the field. In marketing its own brand, now one of the widest lines of architectural speakers in the industry, SpeakerCraft brings with it years of experience and a dedication to dealer satisfaction. There are two models of the AccuFit Ultra Slim with an MSRP of $249 and $325 each.
