Gem unveils a brand new identity (21/9/2007)

Gem marks their evolution and developing role in the distribution sector with a new corporate identity

Gem has today unveiled a brand new corporate identity to represent its evolving role in the distribution sector and the significance of a wide range of added value services it provides to the channel. The new corporate logo will serve as a marker to Gem's commitment to being an end to end integrated supply chain solution, offering added value distribution to the retail channel.

The identity will also be applied as an icon to support the wide variety of standalone services that Gem provides as separate entities within the company, redefining Gem as a business and providing unparalleled consolidation and added value opportunities throughout the channel. Gem Logistics utilises cutting edge warehousing and logistics facilities to provide a national logistics solution to suit the needs of any operation. The newly formed Gem Creative supports Gem's core sales and distribution business with marketing communication, trade PR and trade show activity. It will also function as a second tier design and production studio, offering POS, concept design, packaging and marketing support for supply partners in addition to their existing agency partnerships or in-house solutions. The flexible nature of these new divisions together with sales and distribution allows Gem to offer a stand alone or tailored consolidation service to suit any requirement.

The new identity signifies Gem's reach, added value services and importance in the channel which has far surpassed straightforward distribution" says Chris Peacock, Managing Director. The new logo was designed by Gem Creative, who wanted to create a clean streamlined visual identity to represent the clarity and vision of Gem's services going forward. It modernises the Gem name and branding, while maintaining our commitment as a multi facetted solutions provider and highlighting our innovative approach to bringing new technology to the UK channel.

The new identity will be applied throughout the business with immediate effect.
