Somfy Expands Direct Drive Drapery Motor Range with new Glystro 50 (3/9/2007)

Somfy introduces the latest addition to the Glystro motor range - the Glystro 50. Built to utilize the same track as the current Glystro(r) 25, the Glystro(r) 50 is more powerful and designed to traverse draperies up to 110 lbs. The new motor will be available in two versions for increased control flexibility in commercial and home technology integration applications. The first will include infrared and built-in dry contact control. The second version adds built-in Radio Technology Somfy(r) (RTS) to the infrared and dry contact control. And, with encoder based technology, it's possible to achieve an intermediate or favorite position at the press of a button.

The Glystro(r) 50 may be fabricated to operate one way (side draw) or two way (split draw), depending on the application and is compatible with pinch pleat, accordia-fold and ripplefold draperies. The new motor also features a manual override function which allows the drapery to be operated manually in the event of a power failure, emergency situation, etc. This unique manual override is also useful where end users may not be aware of the drapery motorization capabilities.

Installation is also simple, with a plug-in 24 VDC transformer and automatic limit setting helps for ease of programming. Plus, the slow start, slow stop feature helps to facilitate smooth operation. And as with all Somfy products the new Glystro(r) 50 is backed by a 5 year warranty.
