InFocus Launches New Play Big IN82 and IN8 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projectors (29/8/2007)

Today, InFocus (NASDAQ: INFS), the industry pioneer in digital projection technology, introduces the IN82 and IN81 full HD 1080p projectors to the UK Ð the latest additions to the ÔPlay BigÕ line-up. Celebrating InFocusÕ reputation for excellence and value in the projector market, the new IN82 and IN81 Full HD models combine state-of-the-art technology with sleek, low-profile design and ease-of-use to deliver a stunning HD video experience at class-beating prices. From HD DVD and Blu-ray(tm) movies and PS3, the IN82 and IN81 will ensure that fans see every detail of high-definition (HD) 1080p entertainment magnified in perfect clarity.

IN82

Armed with the latest DLP(r) DarkChip3(tm) technology with BrilliantColor(tm) from Texas Instruments, the InFocus Play Big IN82 full HD 1080p projector offers a native 4000:1 contrast ratio (boosted to a maximum of 12000:1 using the iris) that ensures deep, rich blacks and bright, pure whites while preserving all of the subtle shades in between. With a video optimised brightness of 1,500 Max ANSI lumens - nearly twice as bright as most other home theatre projectors - the IN82 is bright enough to deliver film-standard, D65K colour accuracy in nearly any home theatre on screens up to 3.5m wide, even with ambient light during a daytime movie or sporting event.

IN81

At the heart of the IN81 is a Texas Instruments DLP(r) DarkChip2(tm) chipset with BrilliantColor(tm). With D65K colour accuracy, the IN81 delivers a contrast ratio ranging from 3000:1 (native) up to 10000:1 (iris-enabled), and a video optimised brightness of 1400 Max ANSI lumens on screens up to 3m wide.

The Play Big IN82 and IN81 full HD 1080p projectors are supplied with integrated Pixelworks(tm) DNX(tm) 10-bit video processing technology and two future-proof HDMI 1.3 inputs (one via M1-DA) with Deep Color(tm) support, which can display up to 1.07 billion colours for a perfectly smooth, crystal-clear picture.

In line with the InFocus philosophy, the IN82 and IN81 are tuned for action out-of-the-box, but include additional user-friendly features such as automatic colour gamut and black level calibration, and digital vertical lens shift. For more specific tuning, the IN82 and IN81 projectors can be customised to individual requirements using the InFocus Colour Gamut Calibrator and ISF Day & Night presets, which allow installers to "lock in" optimised calibration settings. For added versatility, an optional anamorphic lens attachment, in combination with the projectorsÕ sophisticated on-board video processing, allows 2.35:1 movies to be viewed utilising their full 1920 x1080 resolution.

The Play Big IN82 and IN81 offer easy connectivity to nearly any consumer electronic device including: HD media players, HD cable and satellite receivers, broadcast receivers, DVD players, computers and video game consoles. A 2m HDMI cable and M1-to-HDMI adapter are included in the box.
