Unique Solutions Distribution continues to grow with new operations director (23/8/2007)

Unique Solutions Distribution Limited, better known as USD, has fast developed its reputation for providing some of the best custom installation solutions for installers. In the four years since it was established by Stephen and Karen Calder, the company has enjoyed tremendous growth of over 100% every year - year on year!

Growth like this is a testament to the high levels of service and support, combined with some of the most impressive products on the market, including Niko lighting and home automation.

As part of its ongoing development programme, USD Limited has announced the appointment of an operations director, who will be responsible for overseeing the development of the company's infrastructure as it enters the next phase in its growth.

Rob Nicholls joins the company after a career in banking, during which time he enjoyed roles as a branch manager, before moving into a more sales-focussed role where he was responsible for driving the development of a regional sales team of 45 people.

With this background, Rob has a good understanding of the challenges that face a company as successful as USD is in growing its business, as well as a strong commercial and service oriented focus in his approach to his work.

Commenting on his new role, Rob explained "I am very excited by the opportunities available to me in a company as dynamic as USD. The positive attitude of Karen and Steve, as well as their determination to provide the highest standards of service and backup to their customers convinced me that this is a company which will enable me to develop alongside their business. And the fact that we are working in such a fast- moving industry with some of the most exciting products on the market, helps, too!"

MD Steve Calder explained the new appointment saying, "We have know Rob for some time and so when it became obvious that we needed to find someone who would ensure that we have the infra structure to support the company as it grows, we found that the skills that we were looking for matched Rob's experience and attitude almost perfectly.
