News The Multi-Room Company introduces new UK style switch plates for Russound A-BUS amplified keypad system (22/8/2007) The Multi-Room Company, distributor of Russound multi-room distributed audio and video systems, is introducing new UK style switch plates for the A-BUS range of products. Designed and manufactured exclusively for The Multi-Room Company to compliment existing UK size screw-less light switches, the A-BUS Flat Plate enables architects and specifiers to include A-BUS systems without distracting from the aesthetic of the environment. Available in chrome, brushed stainless steel and white, the new plates come complete with a keypad module, which is available in black or white. Each module includes an electronic volume control, an infrared control and a high quality stereo amplifier. The new switch plates are available only as part of carefully tailored pre-packaged kits that offer single or multi-source hubs and remote controls. A-BUS is a revolutionary system that facilitates a much simpler multi-room audio installation process. A single CAT5 cable between each keypad and a single or multiple source hub unit enables audio to be distributed without the need for additional speaker cabling running between the in-room controls and audio sources/ amplifiers. Each keypad incorporates a high quality stereo amplifier, which receives its power source and audio signals from the hub via the CAT5 cable. Speaker cabling is only required between the keypad and local speakers, minimising cable length for improved audio quality and speeding up installation. Multiple hubs may be linked to accommodate larger systems. The hub controls the audio sources through infrared commands from the proprietary A-LRC1 remote control or the source manufacturer's remote - each source can be controlled from any zone.
