News CEDIA launches nationwide roadshows in countdown to certification (21/8/2007) CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) has announced a series of nationwide Certification roadshows in the run-up to the mandatory certification deadline of 31st January 2008.
The CEDIA Certification Countdown roadshow comprises a choice of a two-day or week long education programme, dependent on delegate knowledge and experience. The two-day Certification review and exam session for both Installer Level One and Designer Level One is suitable for more experienced candidates who already feel comfortable with the relevant curricula. Newcomers or less experienced staff can attend the one week school option leading up to Installer Level One or Designer Level One Certification exams (the designer course assumes at least one year's experience). The Certification Countdown roadshows will be held in the following locations: Heathrow: 17th & 18th September - Installer 1 review
and exam CEDIA is promoting the Certification Countdown roadshows through a high profile Autumn marketing campaign, involving direct mail, email, advertising and PR activities. To find out more on each curriculum or to book your place, visit www.cedia.co.uk, select 'Education' from the menu and then choose 'Book CEDIA Training'. From 1st February 2008, every UK CEDIA Electronic Systems Professional (ESP) member company must have at least one CEDIA certified member of staff to remain a member. To achieve Certification, the individual(s) must be current holders of either CEDIA Installer Level One, Installer Level Two or Designer Level One. This mandatory Certification has been introduced as part of CEDIA's drive towards higher standards and professional recognition within the industry and beyond. Once certified, individuals are requirement to obtain 30 Continuing Education Units over a 3 year period following passing the exam. All CEDIA courses as well as an increasing number of Trade Supplier courses are eligible for CEU points.
