News soundmatters to Demonstrate SLIMstage40 LCD-thin surround speaker console (10/8/2007) Booth 210, CEDIA US Expo 2007 Illustrating that great sound can indeed come from small packages, soundmatters will feature the new SLIMstage40(tm) LCD-thin surround speaker console at the upcoming CEDIA Expo. (The company will soon ship two additional SLIMstage models - SLIMstage30 and SLIMstage50 as well.) SLIMstage40(tm), which will ship in tandem with its appearance at the Expo, is an LCD-thin surround speaker console that features 170 Watts from eight internal amplifiers. Measuring a scant 3.3"H x 39"W x 3.4" D, SLIMstage40 is slimmer than virtually all wallmounted plasma and LCD TVŐs, yet it provides high-definition sonic output with several demonstrable benefits over other single-box surround consoles, including convincing, detailed surround sound from both stereo and 5.1 signals without reflecting walls, and full, articulate bass without the need for an external subwoofer. The two follow-up models - SLIMStage30 and SLIMstage50 - will feature 140W RMS and 210W RMS, respectively.
