News Unicam installs High Definition Video Distribution and Sound Room Comparator Systems across Europe (27/7/2007) Unicam Europe is celebrating! The company has installed over 450 high definition video distribution and sound room comparator systems in retail sites owned by consumer electronics retailers and suppliers across Europe. Unicam Europe supports organisations as varied as independent retailers with only one store, to organisations with multiple and national outlets to international blue chip companies. Kesa owned consumer electronics superstore BCC was founded in Holland in 1945. BCC now operates though 40 specialist superstores across Holland together with a number of smaller 'boutique' outlets. In 2004 BCC first contracted with Unicam Europe to install video distribution and in store display systems. Now BCC has become one of Unicam Europe's largest clients and BCC's customers can now select and compare ranges of TV and Home Cinema systems in-store and be helped to make an informed choice. Unicam are European agents for Audio Authority, whose comparator and distribution products drive the retailer demonstration systems. The Audio Authority video distribution components are highly flexible meaning that retailers are able to demonstrate as few as 2 screens or as many as 960 - all managed from a central control room if required. The distribution system can accept any number of different inputs allowing retailers to demonstrate standard and high definition TV through composite, DVI, HDMI or component video. There can also be provision to input and select appropriate in-store messaging or to show dedicated HD players or media player sources. The system allows easy integration of multiple sources that can be remotely switched so that TVs can demonstrate a variety of different images to the consumers' benefit. "Retailers really value these systems." Added Ad van der Stock, European Sales Manager for Unicam. "Consumers need help to make informed decisions and demonstrations help them understand the differences between LCD, plasma screens and High-Definition products. Retailers are thus able to share their knowledge and help customers ensure their new purchases are as 'future proof' as possible. And it's all very easy." "Audio Authority has been developing demonstration and switching systems since the early days of video and hi-fi. They understand the market and their flexible, inexpensive systems work. That is why we have been asked to build so many installations across Europe and why Audio Authority demonstration units can be found from Denmark and Norway to Greece and Turkey, from Holland to Germany. We are now looking forward to celebrating 1,000 and more installations!"
