Sonance introduce first in-ceiling speakers specially designed for European homes (24/7/2007)

Sonance, the originators of in-wall hi-fi loudspeakers for the custom installation market, is pleased to introduce the first range of in-ceiling models specially designed for European Homes.

Designated the 'ThinLine'TM series; the all new models are very high performance, ultra-slim, ceiling-mount designs. Their incredibly low profile allows them to be installed in locations that are too shallow for conventional in-ceiling speakers, a scenario that occurs only too often in UK and European domestic environments.

As expected from Sonance, the new models boast very high-quality driver materials which, combined with their precision engineering, delivers exceptional musical performance. This makes them ideal for both multi-channel home theatre and stereo music applications.

Sonance is distributed in the UK by Armour Home Electronics. Ashley Hutchinson, Armour's Category Manager responsible for Sonance stated: "We're really delighted with the new 'ThinLineTM' speakers. They only need 77mm depth, and with paintable aluminium grilles and a small diameter, they practically disappear into the dˇcor. This is a major breakthrough for installers and interior designers."

The Sonance 'ThinLine'TM range comprises four models, all featuring 165mm woofers with advanced cone materials and voice-coil/magnet systems for robust, extended bass reproduction. All models boast high-performance, dynamic Ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeters, in addition, the top two models feature pivotable tweeter mounts, which allow installers to 'fine tune' stereo imaging and coverage of the listening area. The ThinLineTM design incorporates the exclusive Sonance FastMount(R) and RotoLock(R) mounting systems for quick, easy and secure mounting - saving installer's time, money, and aggravation. The two 'flagship' models provide three-position (+3, 0, -3 dB) tweeter-level switches to balance overall treble output, complementing room acoustics or individual preferences. Among the ThinLineTM introductions, Sonance is featuring a single-speaker/two-channel model, the TL623SSTR. This utilises the company's 'Single Stereo Technology'(R), which unites dual wide-range 25mm tweeters with a single, two-channel/dual voice-coil woofer, to provide surprisingly spatial, natural stereo sound from a single speaker location -- perfect for smaller areas such as hallways, bathrooms, or closets. The other models are the top-of-the range TL623R, which shares the carbon-fibre woofer-cone and 25mm tweeter found on the TL623SSTR, the attractively priced TL622R (polypropylene woofer; no adjustable tweeter-level), and the TL621R (19mm tweeter, no tweeter-pivot).
