News Mitsubishi Electric announces new 42" LCD (13/7/2007) Mitsubishi Electric has announced the latest addition to its range of professional LCD displays. The new feature-packed 42" display is designed to perform superbly in all public display applications, such as retail, out-of-home advertising and point of information. Excellent image quality also makes it ideal for corporate, surveillance and educational use. A high standard of construction combined with clever design helps ensure a low cost of ownership and long working life. With the addition of the new LDT421V, Mitsubishi Electric's range of LCD displays now includes 32", 37", 42" and 46" models, all of which can be supplied with optional stereo speakers. Packed with features, the Mitsubishi Electric LCD range has been designed very much with the needs of the professional user in mind. The LDT421V offers native WXGA (1366 x 768) resolution, supporting up to SXGA/UXGA formats (compressed), making it compatible with a wide range of data and video inputs. A fast response time of 8ms(grey-to-grey), 1500:1 contrast ratio and 500cd/m" brightness delivers superb image quality with high-fidelity colour reproduction. A low-reflection screen surface also helps to improve image quality in high ambient light environments such as retail and public spaces. A multitude of built-in features make the LDT421V extremely versatile in operation. Picture-in-picture and picture-out-picture functions allow video and data inputs to be combined in a number of different ways, while a comprehensive range of display modes allows content to be zoomed to any of the standard screen sizes, as well as anamorphically to achieve custom formats. In 4:3 display mode, side border bars are also user-configurable to black, grey or white. A built-in tiling mode enables multi-screen tiled displays of up to 16 panels (4 x 4) to be easily created without the need for an external image processor. Having been designed specifically for extended usage applications, the LDT421V includes a number of useful enhancements to reduce the need for user intervention and to improve long-term reliability. Display controls include a 7-day programmable on/off scheduler, enabling displays to switch on and off automatically. A power-up timer helps to reduce power surge when several displays are used together. Several screen-saver features are included to help reduce long-term LCD deterioration. Gamma and brightness can be set to pre-determined levels automatically, while an image shift function helps reduce image sticking by moving a static image around 10 mm in both vertical and horizontal planes after a preset time delay. LDT421V comes equipped with a comprehensive range of self-diagnostics and fault reporting functions which makes it ideal for use in wide area applications such as shopping malls or passenger terminals. Fault conditions such as over-temperature can be detected via RS-232C or DDC-CI. Full remote control of the LDT421V is also possible via RS-232C, allowing displays to be easily managed from a central control room. Combining excellent image quality with robust construction and thoughtful built-in features, the LDT421V is the perfect choice for any professional application where quality, functionality and cost-effectiveness are prime considerations.
