News Aldous Systems Launches A-BUS Product Line (11/7/2007) Affordable Multi-Room Music Systems Targeted For Volume Developers Aldous Systems (Europe) Ltd, a progressive distributor dedicated to connectivity systems, launched Aldous Systems A-BUS(r) offering a simple, affordable, greatsounding solution to volume home builders for multi-room audio. The costs and complexities of making a modern home ready for multi-room music are set to dramatically reduce, due to the simplicity of the installation and ease of use for the home owner. Aldous Systems A-BUS packages will begin at £1000 for a 4 zone system including high quality ceiling speakers and be available from July 2007. Aldous Systems will be providing flexible multi-room audio solutions for a wide range of applications including enabling iPod-ready homes. To ensure the system can be easily cabled, installed and commissioned, Aldous Systems will offer installers a comprehensive training course and even help provide design support on any project. A-BUS(r) is a unique, proven technology for multi-room audio that utilizes a single Cat-5e cable to carry signal, data, infrared, status and power from the hub to the amplified module (keypad) then standard speaker cable to a pair of flushed-in room speakers. The keypad also offers each room independent volume and infrared remote control. This ingenious approach places the amplifiers closer to the speakers, enabling superior sound quality, increased flexibility, simpler installation, consumer-friendly operation, energy savings and greater affordability. The Aldous Systems A-BUS is being packaged to include a number of options including 4 rooms of music from a single audio source, such as an iPod, or 4 rooms of audio from multiple sources allowing different music playing in different rooms at the same time. For Developers requiring a complete end-to-end solution, including telephone, internet, TV and multi room audio, the Aldous Systems A-BUS is being packaged with the Compact Residential Infrastructure System (CRIS), an already widely deployed domestic structured cabling solution. As an added benefit, Developers can offer their clients the ability to upgrade number of rooms of audio or upgrade from single to multi source without changing the cabling buried in the walls. Jason Aldous, director of Aldous Europe said "Electrical Contractors nationwide will be familiar with and have the experience to first fix Cat5e quickly and efficiently, making it cost-effective for the UK's volume home building companies to pre-wire the whole house and deliver multi-room audio to their customers."
