The Multi-Room Company introduces Ceratec loudspeakers to the UK market (5/7/2007)

The Multi-Room Company, distributor of custom installation products has been appointed official UK distributor for German loudspeaker brand, Ceratec.

Ceratec loudspeakers are designed by leading acoustic designer, Ulrich Ranke, managing director of the Bremen based company. Following in the footsteps of Bremen's other famous designer, Wilhelm Wagenfeld, who was a student of the Bauhaus and designer of the Bauhaus Lamp, the Ceratec products are classical and elegant, functional designs. They do not follow any transient fashion, but adhere to the Bauhaus philosophy of mass-production being completely reconcilable with the individual artistic spirit.

Manufactured from anodised, extruded aluminium and glass from the company's own plants, the loudspeakers are almost limitlessly customisable in terms of the anodising colour and colour of the grille fabric; making them ideal for the style conscious consumer and high -end custom installation market. Incorporated into the rear face of the Xeno range are banks of tri-colour LEDs, which enable the speaker to emit a soft glow of virtually limitless colours onto the rear wall. Controlled by IR remote control, the colour may be user varied to suit the mood and occasion.

In addition to his passion for and understanding of aesthetics, Ulrich Ranke has a proven pedigree in acoustic design having worked previously for drive unit manufacturer Eaton. Ceratec loudspeakers incorporate many innovative audio features, such as rectangular drive units, which serve to enhance the line array dispersion characteristics. Many of the company's employees are musicians and their collaboration with the engineers ensures the speakers reproduce music authentically, not falling into the familiar German, British or American sound traditions.

Within each of the Ceratec product ranges, the loudspeakers are available in a variety of size options for front, rear and centre applications, with different colour grilles, wall brackets and stands available. A number of active subwoofers compliment the comprehensive selection of loudspeakers.
