News The Multi-Room Company introduces Inteset advanced home entertainment media servers (5/7/2007) CEDIA UK Expo 2007 The Multi-Room Company, distributor of custom installation products has been appointed sole UK distributor for US based media server brand, Inteset. Inteset are leading the convergence of computer and home entertainment technologies through their use of a unified and enriched Windows Media Center interface. Custom built Inteset software controls the MCE platform to deliver robust movie management and multi-zone music modules. The PC industry's best quality components are integrated into Inteset's own unique cases, designed to offer ease of upgrade to ensure customers' systems do not become obsolete as technology moves on. For example, a Blue Ray or HD-DVD player can easily be substituted for the existing DVD player. The Windows Media Center interface has been reduced to encompass entertainment functions only, to ensure that the system setup is uncomplicated and offers the installer a simple installation launch pad for the audio and video functions. Inteset have paid considerable attention to the security of the media servers, both against external virus attack and hardware and software failures. To eliminate the possibility of internet and email borne viruses corrupting the media server, or the installation of additional applications introducing instability, the installer has the option to utilise Secure Lockdown technology. This locks the user out of all elements of the Windows interface other than the entertainment features. The Media Library is RAID 5 protected to ensure continuity of operation in the event of a hard drive failure and the top of the range server will auto-notify the dealer/installer of any impending drive failures. All Inteset media servers come with multiple video, audio and Ethernet outputs to support multi-zone installations and can be controlled by any device supporting a web browser. Content is easily 'ripped' onto the 2TB hard drive (expandable) and DVD sleeve information is obtained automatically from Inteset's own comprehensive database.
