Domia announces free training to encourage installers and electricians to gain the Qualified Domia Lifestyle Installer Accreditation (5/7/2007)

CEDIA UK Expo 2007

Domia is proud to announce the launch of a brand new training programme, free to installers and electricians keen to stay at the fore front of smart home technology.

Committed to providing the most affordable and cutting-edge home automation solutions for trade and end users, Domia will be showcasing this fully integrated digital home solution at this year's Cedia show in London from 26th-28th June 2007 (stand no. H3).

With Domia Lifestyle, intelligent technology for today's living is now within reach of every homeowner. Fingertip control over lighting, climate control (HVAC), audio & video, appliances, energy management, security and surveillance is conveniently and centrally delivered to the homeowner via a variety of smart interfaces. With continued growth in new-build property development and an ever-increasing demand for fully integrated smart home solutions, the Domia Lifestyle solution is an affordable and pioneering system than undoubtedly will be extremely popular with property developers and electricians and installers alike.

"Training on any system is a vital component," said Managing Director Darryl Mattocks, "however it is especially important for modern digital systems such as Domia Lifestyle. The fact that the system is modular means that the number of different ways to configure the solution is huge - representing the fact that the system has been designed to cope with a wide range of installation requirements. This is good as it provides superb flexibility, but it does mean that there is a lot for an installer to get to grips with. Our training programmes are modular in nature and are designed to take electricians and installers through the different modules with plenty of hands on practice. Once the modules framework has been put in place, we show how the modules can be linked together to form a highly effective solution to many of the smart home and home automation installation jobs electricians are increasingly being asked to perform."

Each module on the course has an optional multiple choice and practical examination at the end. If the delegate passes these examinations they will be awarded the Domia Lifestyle Qualified Installer (DLQI) accreditation allowing them to use the Domia Lifestyle logo in their marketing and receive referrals from Domia Lifestyle for installation work in their area. Courses are run monthly in Oxford and London.

"To control your home from a central point either remotely or locally through a variety of multi-functional interfaces is now an integral part of everyday contemporary living," comments Tim Ellert, Chief Technology Officer. "Domia Lifestyle is superior to other smart home products currently on the market as it provides a greater range of user interfaces than competitors such as Vista's Media Center GUI, mobile phone and web interfaces."

"Domia Lifestyle is an exciting leap forward for the smart home market," enthuses Ellert. "It enables you to take full control of your home from anywhere in the world - switch off your lights via the Internet from your desk at work, even monitor your home from your favorite spot on the beach via your mobile phone, the possibilities are endless! Furthermore, this sophisticated technology is incredibly responsive. For example, if you use your mobile phone to switch on your heating, all other interfaces such as the touchscreens in the home are automatically updated to show the true status of your home at anytime."

Anyone wishing to experience the Lifestyle system in action is invited to spend time at Domia's fully fitted demonstration suite in Buckinghamshire.
