News Screen Excellence launches new acoustically transparent electric motorised screens at CEDIA UK Expo (29/6/2007) CEDIA UK Expo 2007 Screen Excellence announces the launch of the most advanced acoustically transparent motorised screens available today. Using its exclusive proprietary "Enlightor" screen fabric, theses new screens provide a flawless picture quality and a degree of acoustic transparency far better than that available from any existing micro-perforated screen. These Acoustically Transparent Electric Screens (ATES) provide an elegant solution for integrating both home cinema and living space, with a screen that glides into position from a discreet housing in response to a signal from a switch, a remote control or from the projector itself. Motorised acoustically transparent screens have previously suffered from several flaws when compared to fixed frame screens. In particular the projection light can be reflected back through the screen and the screen surface suffers from irregular ripples because the fabric is only held under vertical tension. World leading engineering allows Screen Excellence ATES screens to overcome these limitations, providing a stable, flat and totally opaque projection surface. All Screen Excellence ATES screens incorporate a separate acoustically transparent black backing fabric which completely eliminates all rear wall light reflection; and the company has also developed a proprietary system (patent pending), which is used to ensure a totally flat projection surface. Fundamental to the design of the its ATES screen is the unique "Enlightor" Acoustically Transparent fabric. Developed to meet the high demands of digital projection, this fabric has a unique woven structure which completely eliminates the unacceptably visible moirŽ effect that can occur when fixed pixel projectors produce an image on conventional perforated or micro-perforated screens. Screen Excellence ATES screens offer the most advanced features in acoustically transparent motorised screen technology:- * Exclusive "Enlightor" fabric gives a totally un-compromised image and sound quality * No MoirŽ effect; ideal for use with DLP and other fixed pixel projectors * AT Woven black backing fabric which eliminates rear wall light reflection * Flat projection surface free from wrinkles or ripples * Adjustable extra-drop allowing the screen image to be positioned to the exact height required There are eight models in the ATES range with aspect ratios of 1.78 and 2.35 with base widths from 203 cm to 356 cm.
