News Screen Excellence launches new acoustically transparent fixed screens at CEDIA UK Expo (29/6/2007) CEDIA UK Expo 2007 Screen Excellence announces the launch of the most advanced Acoustically Transparent (A.T.) screens available today. Using the exclusive proprietary "Enlightor" screen fabric, they provide a flawless picture quality and a degree of acoustic transparency far better than that available from any existing micro-perforated screen. Fundamental to the design of the Screen Excellence ATFF fixed frame screen is the unique "Enlightor" Acoustically Transparent fabric. Developed to meet the high demands of digital projection, this fabric has a unique woven structure which completely eliminates the unacceptably visible moirŽ effect that can occur when fixed pixel projectors produce an image on conventional perforated or micro-perforated screens. Screen Excellence's fabric is held under permanent tension by a rigid 8 cm wide aluminium frame which is coated in a black velour finish and combined with a secondary light-absorbing edging so creating the perfect black border visibly enhancing the image contrast. Contrast is also improved through the provision of an acoustically transparent black backing. This woven material is fixed, as a secondary layer, on the back of the "Enlightor" fabric and completely absorbs any rear wall light reflections. Instead of the conventional press studs the "Enlightor" fabric is held to the frame by a self-tensioning groove system. Once locked in place the spring tensioning ensures the fabric is evenly supported across its full length and thus free of any ripples so guaranteeing a totally flat projection surface. Screen Excellence ATFF screens are available for both 16/9 and 4/3 aspect ratios with 5 models covering a base width of 203cm to 305cm in each case. These screens offer the following key features:- * "Enlightor" fabric - Uncompromised image and sound quality * No moirŽ effect - Ideal for use with DLP and other fixed pixel projectors * AT woven black backing fabric - Eliminates rear wall light reflections, and maximizes picture contrast * Aluminium frame - Ensures perfect structural rigidity * Groove tensioning system - Guarantees a perfectly flat projection surface The design of these screens is based upon a thorough understanding of both projector technology and acoustic principles and the final result provides the ultimate in both image and sound quality.
