News Screen Excellence debuts acoustically transparent screens (29/6/2007) CEDIA UK Expo 2007 Screen Excellence announces the availability of the most advanced acoustically transparent screens available today. Using the exclusive proprietary "Enlightor" screen fabric, they provide a flawless picture quality and a degree of acoustic transparency far better than that available from any existing micro-perforated screen. Screen Excellence will be showing both products on Stand G5 at the CEDIA Expo 2007. These Acoustically Transparent Screens are available as both fixed frame versions and as motorised electric screens. Both models incorporate new engineering thinking to prevent the reflection of light back through the screen and in the design of the tensioning to provide a totally flat projection surface free of any ripples. Fundamental to the design of the Screen Excellence screen is the unique "Enlightor" Acoustically Transparent fabric. Developed to meet the high demands of digital projection, this fabric has a unique woven structure which completely eliminates the unacceptably visible MoirŽ effect that occurs when fixed pixel projectors produce an image on conventional perforated or micro-perforated screens. All the screens made by Screen Excellence incorporate a separate acoustically transparent black backing fabric which completely eliminates all rear wall light reflection so enhancing the visible contrast. Screen Excellence fixed screens are available for both 16/9 and 4/3 aspect ratios with 5 models covering a base width of 203cm to 305cm in each case. There are eight models in the motorised electric screen range with base widths from 203 cm to 356 cm.
