Philips appoints AWE as exclusive UK distributor for Pronto (29/6/2007)

CEDIA Expo 2007 sees AWE, the top AV equipment distributor to the custom installation trade, confirmed as the exclusive UK distributor for Philips Pronto. Philips has also announced that AWE's Epsom HQ will act as its UK service centre, will host global product development testing and also provide new certified Pronto training sessions for residential systems designers and installers.

With this news, CEDIA Expo 2007 provides the perfect platform for AWE to introduce the ground-breaking two-way control modules for the Philips TSU-9600 Pronto touch-screen remote. Where other brands face wi-fi reliability issues, Philips has developed an enhanced Protocol exclusively for the new Pronto. This ensures the unit can communicate reliably over wi-fi with a serial/IP and IR extender which allows for 2-way communication and real time system control for a wide range of devices and systems. The new version of the ProntoEdit software is launched this month and includes 2-way modules from 10 partner companies, a massive code library, and an advanced Software Developers Kit for bespoke 2-way software customisation.

The TSU-9600 Pronto Professional provides a class leading 3.7" colour VGA touch-screen, is fully programmable and customisable via PC and IP, RS232 + IR extendable. The IR learning range has been extended and now covers frequencies from 25kHz to 1MHz. As well as IR output, the unit can send its commands via WiFi to a wireless IR extender via a direct WiFi connection or a wireless network.
