News Aquavision Shows New Waterproof Range of HD Ready Televisions With RS232 Control (25/6/2007) Stand B10a, CEDIA UK Expo 2007 To satisfy the ever increasing demand for high technology in every room inside and outside the home, Aquavision is introducing five new waterproof HD Ready LCD televisions at CEDIA. The Mk 1V high-performance range will consist of 17 (4:3), 19, 26, 32 and 40in widescreen sizes. The most exciting new feature, which is unique to waterproof televisions, is the RS232 control port, enabling the television to be controlled from a compatible touch panel anywhere in the home. The RS232 control port is fully compatible with most home automation control systems including Crestron. All the new models feature integrated Freeview digital and analogue tuners, a component video, S-Video and analogue PC input, twin HDMI inputs on the AVF-32-4C and AVF-40-C, single HDMI on the 17, 19, and 26 the twin HDMI inputs on the two larger screens, full scart connection and built in games. Image quality is far more superior than any other waterproof TV available offering a contrast ratio of 1600:1 on the AVF-32-4C for outstanding reproduction of detail and depth of images and 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution on most of the new models. The new screens accept both industry standard 'High Definition' video formats (1080i and 720p) perfect for watching the latest HDTV and high definition movies. Two remote controls (one master and one waterproof) are provided with all the new waterproof televisions. Even though these televisions are installed in steamy rooms - bathrooms, showers, saunas etc, the heated screen will never mist up in humid conditions. Installation is very simple as Aquavision is supplied with an easy to fit fixing frame, with a polished steel bezel, which can be mounted into the wall without the screen. All the messy work such as tiling, plastering and finishing of the wall can be done with the Aquavision LCD screen safely out of the way. Then when completed, fit the Aquavision screen, connect the cables, seal the surround and it's ready to go! The Mk 1V range is available in three finishes:- polar white, black, and Mirrorvision - when the television is off, the glass takes the form of a mirror that is perfect for shaving, make-up etc. Not on show at CEDIA, but also available are the Heated Towel Rail / Television - incorporating a 17" LCD into a bespoke, state of the art towel rail and a kitchen range - designed to be installed into a kitchen cabinet door.
